Ukończyła kierunek Nowe Media w Pilźnie i Film Dokumentalny na FAMU w Pradze.
Jej krótki film Apparatgeist (2019) otrzymał Specjalne Wyróżnienie Jury Studenckiego na Ji.hlava IDFF 2019. Jej hybrydowy krótki film Shells (2022) miał premierę na Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Filmowym w Karlowych Warach 2022, brał udział w konkursie Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival 2023, został wybrany do The Hottest Shorts of Hot Docs 2023 i zdobył nagrodę The Best International Student Film Award na Cinedans Film Festival Amsterdam 2023.
Jej twórczość koncentruje się na tematach osobistych i społecznych za pośrednictwem form dokumentalnych i fikcyjnych, a obecnie pracuje nad swoim pierwszym pełnometrażowym filmem dokumentalnym The Other One.
Marie-Magdalena Kochová is a Czech director based in Prague.
She graduated from New Media in Pilsen and Documentary Film at FAMU in Prague.
Her short film Apparatgeist (2019) was granted the Special Mention of Student Jury at the Ji.hlava IDFF 2019. Her hybrid short film Shells (2022) premiered at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2022, competed at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival 2023, was selected to The Hottest Shorts of Hot Docs 2023 and won The Best International Student Film Award at Cinedans Film Festival Amsterdam 2023.
Her work focuses on personal and social themes through documentary and fictional forms, and she is currently working on her first documentary feature film The Other One.
