Gyöngyi Fazekas (ur. 1991) jest węgierską filmowczynią mieszkającą w Helsinkach, posiadającym tytuł licencjata z pedagogiki i sztuk wyzwolonych na Uniwersytecie Eötvös Loránd. W swojej pracy magisterskiej „Modern Creation Stories” badała role płci w

post -millennium filmach przedstawiających sztucznie stworzone postacie. Uzyskała tytuł magistra sztuki filmowej na Budapest Metropolitan University, a wkrótce ukończy reżyserię filmową na Aalto University w Finlandii. Jej główne zainteresowania to kwestie wolności, macierzyństwa i samotności. W poszukiwaniu odpowiedzi, jej historię zazwyczaj wystawiają bohatera na ekstremalną próbę wynalazku technologicznego. Po nakręceniu kilku międzynarodowych filmów krótkometrażowych od 2014 roku pracuje obecnie nad scenariuszem swojego pierwszego filmu fabularnego: Heartdrive.

Gyöngyi Fazekas (b.1991) is a Helsinki-based filmmaker from Hungary, with bachelor’s degrees in Pedagogy and Liberal Arts from Eötvös Loránd University, the latter with Film Theory and History major and Creative Writing minor. Her written thesis, ‘Modern Creation Stories’, examined gender roles in post-millennial films depicting artificially created characters. She holds an MA in Motion Picture Art from Budapest Metropolitan University, and will soon graduate in Film Directing from Aalto University, Finland. Her main interests are the questions of freedom, motherhood and solitude. In search of answers, her stories usually expose the protagonist to an extreme test of a technological invention. After having made several internationally acclaimed short films since 2014, she is currently working on the script of her first feature film: Heartdrive.
